Now I am not one for measuring my fitness against a scale of stats. I certainly don’t like weighing myself as those scales are just the step of doom! However, I may have been converted just a little and I now may realise how keeping a record can be beneficial. Now I am not exercising to lose weight, I am exercising to get stronger, to build muscle and to hopefully feel happier in myself. So when I had to send Amina over at Be Better Fitness Training my vital stats I wasn’t overly happy. However, a month later and another lot of stats and I am feeling a lot happier.
I Am No Saint
Now when it comes to following Be Better Fitness Training you are expected to exercise 6 out of 7 days a week and every day is different with varying lengths of workout and intensity. No workout is overlong so you really should be able to find the time to fit in a workout. However, May saw me travelling back to the UK twice, once for pleasure, where I might have let my healthy eating slip but show me a breakfast buffet and I am going to make the most of it! The second time was for the hellish Moonwalk marathon. The toing and froing did mean that I felt disorganised and I wasn’t quite where I wanted to be when it came to my exercising and healthy eating. This month also saw me developing a real sweet tooth. I am going to blame the tiredness but all of a sudden I had an overwhelming desire to shove fizzy cola bottles in my mouth all day long. I gallantly tried to stop myself from doing this but the odd fizzy cola bottle did still make its way in! I am no saint.
What Difference Did I See After A Month Of Be Better Fitness Training?
Despite my slippery slope when it came to food and the odd missed workout I did still see a difference.
Weight loss – Minus 3.8%.
Kerching! I am surprised by that as the odd fizzy bottle did fall into my mouth and I might have snaffled my way through the breakfast buffet. However, it shows that clean eating for the majority of the time really does make a difference. We also need to allow ourselves the odd treat. We are only human. This proves that everything in moderation is fine! Cheers to that.
Hips – Minus 1%
I have a love hate relationship with my hips. My hips are child bearing hips of epic proportion, yet ironically were unable to help me actually push a child out of my vagina. I digress, you really did not need to know that. My hips have served me well it comes to carrying two large babies. They expanded and stayed expanded. I could be an honorary member of the Kardashians with my hips. Therefore, I will take that 1% loss. Whoop!
Waist – Minus 6.2%
Hello! Now this is something to shout about. I am chuffed with that. I am very happy that my waist has got a little smaller. That will be the hiit workouts that Be Better Fitness Training has you doing. Short but brutal, I often finish feeling like I am going to vomit! But so worth it.
Thighs – Minus 20%
Let’s talk about my thighs. No, really. If we were under some sort of zombie attack, I would be one of the first to be eaten. How do I know this? My meaty thunder thighs. They would feed a family of four zombies for days. I actually thought that my thighs were getting bigger. I had proclaimed to Amina from Be Better Fitness Training that the more I exercise the bigger the thighs become. Amina had told me that it was muscle from the squats she has us doing and that I should “Embrace the muscle!” She is right because they aren’t getting bigger! I have lost a whopping 20% of them. My thighs are clearly just getting more defined. Soon those zombies will be steering clear of me as I will have muscly thighs.
Lower Leg – Plus 2.7%
Whaaaaaat. It appears that my lower legs are getting bigger. They certainly don’t need any help with that. Maybe I can attribute this to all of the walking I have been doing? I am not sure what to say about this measurement. I am surprised and I haven’t noticed them getting bigger so I am still happy with that measurement.
Upper Arm – Minus 6.7%
All of those planks and kettle bell swings have been helping. I have noticed that my arms are becoming more defined and I am delighted with this measurement.
Overall
I am really happy with my measurements and feel really motivated for this month now. I have invested in a proper kettlebell and that has made my workouts harder, which is only a good thing. Now I am not one for sharing photos of myself and this feels narcissistic but for the purpose of recording my progress I need to do it. So below is me in all of my workout glory. As you can see I am wearing a baggy t-shirt. Will next month see me sharing a photo with a less baggy t-shirt? Probably not but who knows. I apologise if the below photos have offended your eyes.
Please note that this is not my bedroom, it’s my children’s bedroom. Yes, it is messy. Yes, there is a tiger next to me. No, the tiger is not real 😉 .
I am excited for next month. Bring it on! Do you exercise? How do you know if you are making progress? Do you take photos? Weigh yourself?
Disclaimer – please note that I was gifted my Be Better Fitness Training membership in return for my honest reviews and opinions.
Fantastic progress Emma you are smashing it
Thank you 🙂
You make me laugh! Zombies! I found myself thinking, ‘Nah!’…(I’m not trying to be rude and suggest even a zombie wouldn’t want your thighs)….I’m just not convinced they could be bothered to chew off all the lycra first!!
That’s amazing Emma! Well done. You certainly look happier and look healthy. Your skin looks amazing too. I have started to look at my exercise differently, I’m also happy that I have stuck to it too. Woo hoo.
Yaay to both of us 🙂
P.S. Amazing stats!
Thank you!
Fantastic progress Emma! I’m not one for measuring stats either, but sometimes they can make you feel much better! You always inspire to up my exercise routine! I was also relieved to hear the tiger is not real… xx
haha, yes I was worried that people might think I had a tiger as a pet 😉
It must be really motivating to see the change in numbers, even if you’re not big on recording stats. But the zombie thighs are the best bit by far lol!!
Wow you’ve done so well already. The loss of your thighs, makes me want to put down the muffin I’m eating right now. This is my major area that needs work and seeing how well you did in a month makes me think it is achievable. x
Wow, I bet you are really, realy happy. 20% off your thighs is just mental, good mental of course! I do need to check this programme out as it really seems to suit you. Mich x
That’s a great set of vitals well done you! You results have made me consider doing some excise. I’m rubbish. But now the baby is just over a year I really should at least try to get my body back!! Xx
