Anyone that knows me will know that I love nothing better than a perusal in a stationery shop, especially a Smiggle stationery shop. Smiggle stationery shop is always somewhere we have to call into when we are in the UK! I never need an excuse to buy a new notebook, pens and pencils. For someone that has a love of stationery you would think that I would be supremely organised. This was true until this year, I am not sure what has happened but I have become hopelessly disorganised. I have a memory like a sieve. This has seen me forgetting birthday parties, trying to take Oldest back to school two days early and forgetting another school day altogether. This might have even caused me to email the school asking them why they don’t update their calendar on their school website anymore. That calendar used to be my reference point aka life-line. I know, I should invest in a calendar and my mum did try to help by giving me a diary. I lost it.
I Live With Maggie Thatcher
Luckily, I have Oldest who is Maggie Thatcher in disguise and she has a memory that never forgets anything. She seems to have adopted the role of chief rememberer. This was particularly useful when I was looking for a birthday present for the mother-in-law. I thought I had found the perfect gift and then Oldest reminded me that I had bought that very present for her 3 years previously. Yes, I am hopeless. Oldest might be very different to me in a lot of ways, she is as bright as a button for starters but we do share a love of stationery. Actually, both girls love stationery. Therefore, when Smiggle got in touch and asked if the girls would like some of their Smiggle stationery we all let out a high-pitched squeal that made Mr C wince and dogs on the other side of the island bark.
Smiggle have come to my rescue here because we are now organised ready for when schools go back after the summer! Winning. I am almost organised.
Smiggle have an exciting new range called Smiggle Says and we were lucky enough to be sent some lovely bits from this range.
Smiggle Says Hardtop Lunch Box
The girls were extremely excited to see this snazzy lunchbox. It is bright and bold which means that your lunchbox will stand out from the crowd and it won’t get lost in the dinner hall. The girls loved the look of it. However, Oldest very kindly agreed that Youngest can have it as her lunchbox for when she starts school in September. This was so kind of Oldest. The only annoying thing is that now Youngest has the lunchbox she keeps asking if she starts school today because she wants to use her new lunchbox. Yep, how long until September?
I am really impressed with the lunchbox too because it is extremely practical. It is a good size and has two large compartments with double zips. There is also a name label. From a mother who refuses to wade through lost property this is a must! It has a carry handle and a shoulder strap. There is also a drinks holder. It is a lunchbox that will last.
Smiggle Says iphone Case
My two are too young for mobile phones. I am not though! I was very excited to see this phone case. Bright and fun, it is made from embossed silicone so will protect your phone too.
Scented Pencil Pack
We loved these. We might have all argued for the pencils. Apparently me saying “I gave you life” doesn’t mean that I deserve the pencils. Tut. They are really lovely pencils to look at and they smell gorgeous. Available in lots of different scents including fairy floss, berry, grape etc. This would help any child who has those back to school blues
Metallic Lipstick Eraser
Again, this had my name all over it. Again, I wasn’t allowed it! A very funky eraser that like a lipstick you just twist to lengthen.
Spikey Scented Alphabet Keyring
Now I pointed out this keyring is M for MUM. Nope, they still were not having any of it. I am chief key holder that keyring has my name (literally) all over it. A very cool keyring that smells of pineapple. Perfect for me, I can sniff away when I am stuck on the school run and pretend that I am in the Caribbean drinking pina coladas.
Pocket Pals Mini Journals
Love this and they would make a great addition for a party bag too. These journals come in a cute box with a scented badge, bookmark, scented stickers, dice template and game piece. I love how they encourage your child to reflect and they would be brilliant for encouraging good behaviour.
Overall Thoughts On Smiggle
We have some serious love for Smiggle. We loved the range. They are brilliant, funky and affordable. I think that many of their products would make a great addition for a party bag, or as a reward or even as something for the children to spend their hard earned pocket money on.
If you don’t have a Smiggle shop near you then don’t fear! They have a website where you can order your goodies online.
Disclaimer – Smiggle very kindly sent us these lovely bits in return for our honest opinion. Thank you Smiggle. As always all words are my own.
