• Last week we caught the ferry to France. We are only 39 miles off the coast of France so it's a nice short crossing. However, it always feels a bit of a gamble as the ferries seem to be frequently delayed or cancelled.😱 We then drove for 4 hours to Paris. This was a slightly hairy experience. We drove through torrential rain all the way and as a result we couldn't see very much due to the rain and spray from the road. Driving through Paris was also an experience. 🤣 Thank goodness Mr C was the designated driver. When we finally arrived at Disney Land Paris the rain cleared and these two were so excited. Their faces meant that we soon forgot about the stressful car journey😍. I might have been a little bit excited too. I don't think Youngest stopped squealing with excitement for the whole weekend. That could also be down to the sugary treats she filled up on at every opportunity 😬 Healthy eating wasn't a feature of this holiday but it was a once in a lifetime thing so.... In other news - today Youngest manged to kick her foot through my candle lantern. She was practising her karate moves. Thankfully her foot was okay, my lamp wasn't.   • We have packed away our Mickey Mouse ears and we are now making our way back home. It's been a magical (but also very tiring) couple of days. The children didn't want to leave (I suspect Mr C didn't want to either) and they have been living their best life. I didn't realise what thrill seekers the girls were. They don't get it from me. The Tower of Terror lived up to its name 🤢 and I nearly lost my glasses on the Crush Coaster.🤓 On the photos I'm always the one with my head down or eyes closed 🙈. There were so many amazing moments and we are coming away with lots of lovely memories.   • *The sober path! 101 days sober* 101 days ago I decided to give up alcohol for 100 days. Not because I considered myself to have a drinking problem but because I decided I wanted a break from it. I was worried that for the last couple of years I couldn't remember a weekend when I hadn't had wine. I was worried that the wine had become my weekend treat, my go to for when I was stressed and my go to for when I wanted to celebrate. Clever marketing makes us see wine as this magical elixir and I wanted to find out what happened when I removed it. Did I lose my sparkle?🎉 I've written a blog post that will go live later this week but in the meantime I want to share that 1) I didn't get that sparkly BOTOX shizz that everyone talks about.🙄 2) I didn't lose weight, I put it on. How is that even possible? 3) And this is the most important one - I have changed my whole thinking towards wine😎. So outwardly there is no difference but inwardly there are some changes. It's made me realise lots of things about myself and I really think that everyone should give up the ole booze for three months.
