  • Hello! I've not posted on here for AGES and I'm cheating with this photo as it's from Boxing Day. January on Jersey has been very grey so far. Apparently we have had the dullest start to the year since records began in 1925. We have seen just 6 minutes of sun in the first 7 days of this year 😱😱. Despite the bleak weather I'm feeling rather positive. Work is going well and I finally feel like I'm top of it all; I'm doing Veganuary and loving it, and I've joined a lovely running group and I'm doing couch to 5km. 🏃‍♀️ I'm even going to bed at 9pm and rising at 5am as inspired by @lecoindemel and @the_organised_mum All very lovely (even the 5am wake up). Anyway, enough ahout me!   • I was going to say that we are galloping into a new week but that is not the case. It's more like a slow crawl or perhaps a steady canter (if I were trying to be optimistic). Are you feeling the festive fatigue? The children finish school on Wednesday and I'm frantically trying to meet my deadlines so that I can finish on Wednesday too. Then I need to finish my Christmas baking, get all the food shopping done, and clean the house before our guests arrive and then let's not mention the wrapping. Sssh, i'm hoping an elf will do it for me. We have also booked to see the new Mary Poppins on Friday as that's when Mr C finishes. I can't wait.   • Winter has well and truly arrived on Jersey. It feels like it has been raining nonstop for days. The wind has had me worrying about our roof and it looks like the boat hasn't been able to get in because the shelves are bare at the supermarket 😬😬. We went yesterday and there was nothing. Mr C went today and came back with wine as that's all they had (well, that's what he said) 🤣. At least we have plenty of wine in for our guests this Christmas.   • Yes, the Christmas tree has gone up already 🙈 I might not normally be known for my glitter and sparkles but that all changes come December. The house resembles the Blackpool Illuminations, I've covered every possible surface in tinsel, I am already stockpiling the Quality Street and Roses, I've been warbling along to Mariah Carey and I managed to watch 4 Christmas films this weekend.
