Hello lovely peeps,
How have you all been?
I have missed you all! What was it that 5 wise men once said?
“Want you back, want you back
want you back for good”
Yes, in my world Gary Barlow and the rest of Take That are very wise men. But the sentiment behind these words is very true – readers I want you back! I know I took a week away from posting everyday to go cruising round Norway (it was brilliant by the way) but I am back and ready to blog!
Although I didn’t disappear completely. Those of you that follow me on Instagram will have seen me sharing my travels round Norway. For those of you that don’t follow me on Instagram let me briefly rehash my travels through the medium of photos!
First stop was the rather wonderful Bergen! Where the weather was rather unseasonably warm. Cue much cursing of the millions of jumpers I had insisted we all packed. However, I liked the warm weather really as I got to enjoy views like the above. Let’s not talk about how I got to the top of a rather large mountain. For now let’s just say I was scared, very scared.
My brother then gave us a tour of Bergen where we enjoyed the parks in the glorious sunshine. So many lovely parks and the sunshine, did I mention the sunshine?
We then got back on the boat and the next day we woke up in Flam. A rather beautiful village. Look at that view! We enjoyed a train ride up into the mountains which offered spectacular views. There was snow, or to quote Oldest, “wow! Snow, actual snow!” Or to quote Youngest “……….”. That was stunned silence.
We then enjoyed more of Flam and its wonderful fjord before we headed back on board.
We then just had fun hanging around on top deck, enjoying the view. Who am I kidding! In reality I was running around taking lots of photos whilst screaming, “just look at that view! Just look at it”
The next day we arrived in Olden.
There was more snow and more excitement from Oldest and Youngest. Ok, there was more excitement from me too. Just when I thought that I couldn’t get more excited we got into some troll cars to go and visit a glacier. Cue very excited face!
Mr C played it cool. Come on Mr C we were about to get into some troll cars! On arriving at the glacier I spent a lot of the time running around again, taking lots of photos whilst shouting, “look at that view”. I think you are probably picking up on the running theme now.
Seriously though, just look at that view!
Youngest tried to play it cool. Here she is just hanging around at the bottom of a glacier, like you do.
We then explored some more fjords and I took yet more photos.
The next day we arrived in Stavanger where my brother lives! Cue me now threatening to move to Norway as by now I had fallen in love with the country and cue worried looks from my brother as a result!
We spent our day exploring the pretty streets and visiting this pretty museum where Oldest learnt how to pack sardines. It was in a very beautiful old building.
Youngest enjoyed peeking out of the windows whilst I took yet more photos. Norway is such a pretty country that you just want to take photos of everything!
That basically sums up our week – stunning scenery and lots of excitement from me. I will be writing more posts but I thought you might enjoy a brief summary for now 🙂
I’m now back for good
So this is me telling you all that I am back for good! I wish that I could write a more profound and meaningful post to welcome you all back to my blog. However, after a day of travelling back from Norway, which at times was very much like the film ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’, I have nothing left in the tank! But just give me a good night’s sleep and I promise you that I will be back blogging more coherent posts once again!
Vote for me!
In the meantime my sleep deprived brain is telling me that voting for the BiBs closes this Wednesday at midnight! Where has the time gone? I would really love it if you would take the time to vote for me in the Fresh Voice category. You can do that by clicking >>>>>>>>> HERE<<<<<<<<< It really is very easy and it would make this very tired lady very happy. Anyway, enough of the emotional blackmail! I am taking myself to bed to catch-up on my sleep. Normal service will resume shortly.
It’s great to be back 🙂
Ps Have I told you told you guys how much I missed you? Yep, flattery will get you everywhere – *whispers* seriously I would love your vote 😉 x
Ooh! Loved looking at these pics as I went on a very similar fjord cruise back in 2011. Ours was a no children allowed one, which in practice meant the average age on the ship was 70, which was comedy in itself. Loved the train in Flam! #triballove
The train in Flam is ace! Yes, I have to say that the average age on this cruise was rather a bit older than the last one went on but still lots of fun 🙂 x
Wow, what a stunning country to explore! So glad to hear you had a wonderful time (although slightly jealous!), learning to pack sardines actually sounds really interesting! I bet your eldest really enjoyed it. I hadn’t really thought of putting Norway on our list of places to visit but after seeing your piccies, it definitely will be! X
You have to go to Norway if you can! It is amazing and no where near as cold as I thought it would be! 🙂
Welcome back! Let normal service resume
Norway looks awesome! I look forward to further details.
Thank you Jane! Norway was indeed awesome!
Welcome back! Loved seeing all your IG photos – it all looks absolutely stunning! Not somewhere I’d ever have thought of visiting, but I’m now quite keen on a Norway trip of my own!
I am sure you would love Norway! Such an amazing country 🙂
I’ve totallt loved all your Norway photos on Instagram – it’s a place I’d love to visit someday too. Glad you had a great time. Sarah #PointShoot
Thanks Sarah 🙂 There were so many lovely things to see in Norway that I was in photography heaven! 🙂
I think I love every single picture! It looks like you had a great holiday in a gorgeous part of the world. I’ve always wanted to go to Sweden/Norway, but never thought of looking into a fjord cruise.x #PointShoot
I would really recommend going to the fjords on a cruise as I think it makes it more afordable. Norway is a very expensive country so having your food and bed paid for already is perfect! Also great that you get to travel round too. Perfect for me as I get bored easily x
Thanks Pat. I think my fave one is the one of my daughter by the windows. It was such a stunning building and the light was perfect 🙂 x
Hoping for a similar experience. Weather looking a bit worse though! Can’t wait and love reading this in preparation. Thanks!
Have lots of fun and give Norway a big old hug from me 🙂 x
Some truly spectacular pictures there! Looks mighty cold but beautiful
Thanks Keri, it was actually really warm in Bergen but the rest of Norway not so much!
Wow your pictures look amazing. The scenery looks utterly breathtaking and sounds like you were blown away by it. Looks like somewhere I will have to add to my must visit list (which is growing alarminly fast) #whatevertheweather
Thanks, it really is a stunning country. Well worth a visit.x
Wow!!! I’ve always fancied visiting Norway and you’ve just made me want to go even more! That’s pretty cool that your brother lives there so could show you the sites. Your photos are gorgeous, I feel like I need to visit right now 🙂 #whatevertheweather
Yes, I am now very jealous of my brother for living in Norway! He is very worried that we might all move over and join him 😉
Wow wow wow, amazing pics and Norway looks incredible!! It’s somewhere I’ve always fancied visiting….it might have stemmed from my childhood crush on Morten Harket from A-ha being that he was norwegian lol! I’ve just followed you on Instagram so I can check out more of your lovely pics xx #whatevertheweather
Thanks Elaine for your really lovely comment. I’ve just followed you back on Instagram too 🙂
Oh thank you, that is so kind of you to say xx
Glad you had a lovely time! Norway is a beautiful place! My dad actually lives in Stavanger! ❤️ Xxx #TribalLove

You will have to get over and visit your uni friends! Such a fab country. I could live there 🙂 x
Ohhhh, I want to go! It is certainly a very pretty country and you seem to have had some fab adventures and seen so many wonderful things! LOVE the photo of you and your husband, such a contrast of excitement and playing it cool, hilarious! The troll cars sounds fantastic and I love galciers, they are so interesting and majestic. I’ve camped and trekked on some whilst on expedition on Svalbard, can’t get enough of them! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x
