
At the time of writing this there were 3 weeks until the Moonwalk marathon. At the time of you reading this there are now 2 weeks left until the Moonwalk marathon. Argh! Don’t panic!
Training after an injury
As you are all aware (because I keep banging on about it) I did myself a painful injury and had to start from scratch again. Before the injury I was doing 40 plus miles a week and the longest walk I had managed was 18 miles. Now I am having to start all over again and that is incredibly frustrating. However, I have no choice and I just need to deal with it. What has kept me going has been all of your lovely donations. If it hadn’t been for you lot then I probably would have given up by now. We have raised over £1,000. That is a mind-blowing amount and I am so thankful to all of you. It’s not too late to donate and you can find the link at the bottom of the page.
Mileage
I am nowhere up to the mileage that I was because my left foot is still not 100%. However, I am running short distances again and last week I managed a run of 3km, and two 4km. I then walked 11.3km on the Sunday. What I am focussing on is building my strength with Be Better Fitness training.
Be Better Fitness Training
As I have explained previously, Be Better Fitness training is like having your own personal trainer with you at all times. Every day Amina from Be Better Fitness Training will set us a daily challenge. These will vary in length from a short 5 minute workout to a 20 minute workout. Some of the workouts I have done so far include:
- Arms and legs. A short 8 minute workout but it is brutal and effective. My legs were shaking afterwards
- Triceps and Abs workout. Killer!
- Whole body workout. This was about 20 mins long and included mountain climbers, burpees and press ups
- Triceps and leg builder. Perfect for me as I need to make my legs stronger!
What I have loved about this so far is that I am someone who loves a challenge but I get bored easily so being set a different workout every day is perfect for me. As well as the daily challenge you will be set a weekly challenge. This is what Amina would like you to do every day for the week. So we have been set a challenge of eating clean for a week. I have been sharing that over on Instastories and it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be. Although, I could not give up my coffee. I love my coffee too much. We have also been set the weekly challenge of completing 50 squats a day as a well as our normal workout. I am loving the squat challenge because it opens your mind-set and makes you appreciate that you can just squeeze in some exercise whenever you have a spare minute. Children eating their dinner, then see how many squats you can do whilst they eat!
Although I have only been doing Be Better Fitness Training a short time I think that I am already starting to see some changes. I feel stronger and I can see some definition coming back after my two weeks off exercise. I probably need to take a photo so I can reflect on in a month’s time but the thought of doing that fills me with fear! Perhaps I should embrace the fear and roll with it!
Summer Body Transformation Challenge
I am also really excited because Be Better Fitness Training have just launched their ‘Summer Body Transformation’ challenge. This is included in your monthly membership of £10 per month. I think that this is brilliant. I have done something similar before. It was a four times a week class for 6 weeks. It was fantastic but cost £100 and being a mum and juggling childcare and work meant that I wasn’t always able to make the classes. With Be Better Fitness Training you know that you will always make the class as it will be there waiting for you when you are ready. As well as the classes you will get a 4 week meal plan with the shopping lists. I am so excited about this as my downfall is meal planning so it will be brilliant to have someone doing it for me!

As I said earlier, I have 2 weeks until the Moonwalk marathon. You might be wondering if that is it then? Nope. After the Moonwalk marathon I have the island walk in June. This is a 48 miler. I must be mad! However, I am determined to do it as I am enjoying challenging myself!

So glad to hear your foot is getting better & your training is getting there. This is the first time I’d seen you were working with Be Better Fitness. What a fab idea, and like you said trying to get out to classes can be hard so having a virtual personal trainer at home is a great idea. X

I too get bored doing the same work outs over and over, variety is the spice of life and all that! I love the idea of this fitness program, tempted to sign up once I’ve got a few holidays out of the way!
£1000 is amazing! I definitely need to give the triceps and leg builder a go. My legs are definitely weak point - my arms are strong from lifting Piglet!

I am so glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. Be Better Fitness sounds like a brilliant idea, I love that it comes with a meal plan, as that is something I struggle with - I am never sure how many calories I need! I really struggle to fit exercise in, I love that you can let this fit in with your life x
