BakerDays Letterbox cake

April 12, 2016

It appears that my love for cake may not have gone unnoticed. Last week the lovely people at BakerDays asked me if I would like to try one of their letterbox cakes. Obviously, I was not going to turn down the offer of cake! I have always been intrigued by letterbox cakes. As I live away from family and friends I am always on the look out for nice goodies that I can send through the post. The BakerDays letterbox cakes seemed ideal.

A letterbox cake serves 3-4 portions but you can also get larger cakes. Their biggest cake saves 40-55 portions. Perfect for a birthday party! You can also choose from 6 different flavours. You can order online at BakerDays or you can call them on 01623 867160. Then all you need to do is choose your design, size and flavour. I ordered ours online and it arrived really quickly. I was really impressed with how it was packaged. It came in a super nifty tin that keeps the cake lovely and fresh.

As you can see I decided to treat Mr C to a cake to show him how much I love him. The man really does deserve a medal for putting up with my nutty ways. However, I thought he would actually prefer a cake. He was very surprised to come home and find this little beauty waiting for him. It scored me some major brownie (or should that be cake) points.

So in the spirit of the cake here are 5 reasons why I am nuts about Mr C

Why I’m nuts for Mr C

  • He is the most kind and caring man I know!

  • He always sees the best in everyone.

  • He is really encouraging. He encourages me to write my blog and doesn’t mind that I spend most evenings doing it.

  • He makes the best boiled egg and soldiers in the world and sometimes I even get to eat them in bed. Win!

  • He is really good at putting things together. This weekend he put the girls bunk beds together really quickly! He tells me that the secret is to follow the instructions. Something that I am really bad at!

I could list a million more reasons but I don’t want to give Mr C a big head!

Mr C was really impressed by the look of the cake and very kindly agreed to share it with us. I know the man is almost saint like 😉

It was a lovely touch that they also included love heart sweets, that really was the icing on the cake (see what I have done there 😉 ). As this cake is 5″ in diameter it fits through the letterbox so a perfect gift for family and friends that don’t live close by. They also deliver 6 days a week and if you order before 2pm then they can deliver the very next day. Perfect if you are like me and a little disorganised at times.

We really enjoyed the cake. The girls can be funny with cakes that have icing on but they finished it all!

Letterbox cakes cost £14.99 If you would like to order one you can do so on the Bakerday website. You can also find them on twitter here

If you need to sweeten someone up in your life then these cakes make the perfect gifts. They have a wide range including birthday cakes.

Who would you send a cake to?

*please note that this was a collaborative post but all words are my own*

Such a cute design! I love that Baker Days put some thought into the little extras too - Love Hearts are a perfect choice for your cake! It’s such a lovely treat to arrive through your letterbox, isn’t it?

I know, but it did! I think it must have been the clever packaging 🙂
