I was very excited when the lovely people at Panasonic got in contact and asked if I would like to try out their new Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30 headphones. YES! Even better was that they didn’t expect me to write a review of them on my blog. However, I am so impressed with them that I felt I should share them with all of you.
As you are all very aware, I am training for the Moonwalk marathon and the Island walk. There is some mammoth training taking place. I now complete at least two runs during the week of 6 miles and 7 miles. Then I will also try and do two other workouts to help me build my strength. Then at the weekend I have my long walk, I am now at 18 miles. This is also someone who doesn’t really enjoy exercise soI rely heavily on technology to distract me: primarily podcasts and music. FYI currently loving the new album from Ed Sheeran, does this mean I am officially middle-aged? *Sobs*. I used to have a pair of overhead earphones with wires. This was all very well and good until I nearly met my demise on the treadmill due to me becoming very tangled up with the wires.
Last year Mr C treated me to a lovely pair of Bluetooth over the ear headphones. These headphones were much better than my previous pair but really they aren’t meant for exercising in. The sound is really good but they feel cumbersome and now that I am putting in the miles, they irritate me as I get sweatier and sweatier. I also look ridiculous in them, as if I am exercising in ear-warmers. Therefore, I was very excited to try the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30.
The look of the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30
They come with a handy pouch. This means that when you have finished exercising you can throw them in there and put them in your exercise drawer. Yes, I now have a whole drawer for my exercise stuff. Oh how I have changed. This prevents you tangling the headphones up or losing them. I really like the look of the headphones. They look sleek, stylish and very well made.
The fit of the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30
I was so excited when I received a new pair of the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30 headphones to try. I was sceptical though. I have freakishly small ears. This means that in the ear headphones don’t tend to work for me as they are far too big for my dainty (only thing dainty about me) ears. I have tried various types of in the ear headphones to find that as soon as I start running they fall out of my ear. Also not a good look, crawling along the road trying to find your headphones. However, the clever bods at Panasonic have saved us all from the sight of me crawling along the road. They have created a headphone that fits snugly in your ear with a rather genius flexible wing that fits round your ear. This meant that I was able to mould the wing to fit perfectly for my ear. What ever size of ear you have, freakishly small like me or perhaps massive lug-holes like Mr C, you will be able to mould the headphone to fit your ear. They didn’t fall out of my ears once.
The feel of the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30
When I was wearing them I found them to be extremely comfortable and lightweight. They didn’t irritate my ears which is impressive as I was running and walking in them for long distances. The fact that they are resistant to sweat and rain is also a brilliant added bonus for wearing them when you are exercising.
The sound quality of Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30
Now with smaller headphones you might assume that the sound quality is not going to be as good. I did not find this to be the case with the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30. I found the headphones to have a rich bass sound. I was also told that the headphones didn’t leak sound. Again, this was very good because as I mentioned earlier I am a little ashamed of my new found love for Ed Sheeran.
Charge life for Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30
When I charged the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30 for the first time it was extremely quick, a very impressive 15 mins. For a quick charge like this you will get about an hour of playback which is brilliant for a quick workout. For a full charge I have found that my headphones have been superb. In fact, they haven’t run out of charge yet! To put this into perspective, in the headphones I have done two half-hour workouts, one 7 miles run, one 6 mile run and one 16 mile walk. So we are looking at around the 7 hour mark of use and so far they are still going!
Ease of use for Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30
I found them really easy to pair with my phone. Just hold down the power button. They have also never lost connection. It is really easy to control the volume with a button on the headphones and you can also control it using your phone.
Overall, I am really impressed with the Panasonic Wireless Sport Headphones RP-BTS30. They have changed my workouts for the better! Thank you to the lovely people at Panasonic for sending them to me.
Disclaimer – I was gifted these headphones but I was not expected to share a review on my blog. I just wanted to tell you all how fab they are!
These sound so good I’m tempted to take up exercise just to get a pair.
They’d end up being stolen by Buddy though for past bedtime you tubing under the covers
They do look fab indeed! No wonder you wanted to share! But, oh Emma, don’t be ashamed of Ed. Poor chap!
These look amazing! Love that they are wireless. I used to run with an iPod, but got annoyed with the wires – something like this would be great. I know what you mean, I can happily run short distances without music, but I remember with the long distance running I used to like having music on to distract! xx
I like running and use my phone for music, but it always annoys me having to run the wires through my clothes. I’ve always been a bit dubious about bluetooth connection though and whether it would cut out a lot, so these sound great. The battery life is really impressive too – I’m not a long distance runner, so I’d get a lot of runs in before needing to recharge!
Losing connection is my main concern with wireless headphones – so it’s great that they have never done that! I’m also a huge Ed Sheeran fan – so you’re not old 😉 I can’t believe the battery life too, amazing!
Oh I am going to get these for Mr F- I love the fact they have the wings!! Great idea!!
It speaks volumes if you were not asked for a review but wanted to write one anyway. I love the way they look very modern, and the fact that they hold their charge so well. I could do with some for work as I am constantly on my phone and these would make my life so much easier, especially as they pair so easy. I am not a fan of traditional ear phones and find them uncomfortable so it would be interesting to see if these ear plugs are better. I will definitely be looking into these.
