I was thrilled when the postman knocked on my door with a parcel from Green People. Delighted because I was feeling very lurgyfied (yes, that is a made-up word, sue me). All of us, bar Oldest, had been struck down by some yucky flu type virus. Therefore, I was very happy to see the parcel because I knew that it wouldn’t disappoint. I knew that it was going to provide me with a spot of pampering and boy did I need some pampering! The parcel did not let me down.
New Quinoa & Calendula Hand & Body Lotion
Now I know what you are thinking – QUINOA! Don’t you eat that? Well, yes it is a superfood ingredient but it is also amazing for your skin! It is considered a complete protein, boasting all 8 essential amino acids. Quinoa also forms a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, locking in moisture to protect from dryness. This is just what we need for the cold winter months. How many of us suffer from cracked hands during the winter months?
How I found it
I am going to hold my hands-up (see what I did there? Hands…) and say that I am rubbish at remembering to moisturise my hands. Whilst I am very good at moisturising the rest of my body, I always forget my hands. That is really bad because your hands are often a good giveaway of your age and, therefore, we should really be paying close attention to them.
The reason I don’t really bother with my hands is that I hate creams that leave my hands feeling oily and greasy. However, this is the case with this excellent product from Green People. The hand and body lotion contains Calendula which means that as well as feeling moisturising it also feels soothing on the skin. This makes it ideal for inflamed and irritated skin.
I found that the lotion absorbed nicely and it left my skin feeling beautifully soft. I was feeling so poorly that I was tempted to go and have a bath in the lovely stuff. If you keep using the lotion then it will help your skin look plumper, firmer and more toned. Oh yes please! Another key ingredient is Shea Butter and we all know how fantastic that is for moisturising your skin. It also has Perilla seed oil, which I haven’t heard of before. This seed oil contains “exceptionally” high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids act as a natural moisturiser that revitalise dry skin from the inside out! If you don’t get enough fatty acids into your skin, it loses water, which can cause sagging and wrinkling. Quick, I need to go and bathe in the stuff!
How it smelt
The first scent that I picked up on was ginger, followed by orange and lemongrass. It has a lovely zingy aroma that does leave you feeling more energised. Despite me feeling poorly this lotion really perked me up. It was a really lovely scent.
Christmas stocking filler
Priced at £19.95 for 200ml this would make a fantastic stocking filler for a loved one. A great way to treat someone to a spot of pampering.

Ooh lovely Emma. My hands are horrendously dry (even cracking!) at the mo! One for the Christmas list. Can’t get posher than quinoa, sounds DELISH. For your hands, I mean, obvs.
Haven’t heard of Green People before either, so nice to come across a new brand.

It is a proper posh and lovely cream! You will love Green People, such a fab brand.
I am absolutely terrible at remembering to use handcreams, which is made all the worse by the fact that I seem to wash my hands a million times a day at home on maternity leave. I love a good quality handcream and this definitely sounds like one to try! Love the sound of the ingredients, will keep an eye out for it by us 🙂 Great review, thanks for sharing it on #MarvMondays. Hope you’re all feeling better now too! Emily
Ahh thanks for the get well wishes, today has felt like I am turning the comer, finally!
