When the lovely people at Penwizard contacted us to ask if we would like to receive a personalised Peppa Pig book we jumped at the chance. We are Peppa Pig mad in this house. Both Youngest and Oldest adore Peppa Pig and now thanks to Penwizard they can star in their very own personalised edition of Peppa Pig called ‘My Granny’.
Oldest and Youngest are very lucky in that they have both grannies and also two great grannies! However, both girls really miss their grannies as we don’t get to see them as often as we would like. To decipher the difference between the two grannies we call my Mum “Little Granny”. Youngest has really been missing her little granny after her last visit so I was very excited to get her this book.
How do you order your personalised ‘My Granny’ book
It couldn’t be easier.
- First of you will need to log onto Penwizard.com
- You then personalise your child’s appearance. Choosing their gender, first name, surname, hair colour and style, eye colour and whether they wear glasses. You can then do the same for a sibling and granny. We had a lot of fun doing this. Youngest was in hysterics as we chose granny’s hair.
- You can also add your very own personalised message that appears on the first page. This is a lovely touch and makes the book ideal as a gift.
- You then pay. Books cost £14.99 + P & P. However, I do have a discount code to share with you which you can find at the bottom of the page.
I am not the most tech savy but I found it really easy to personalise the book and to place my order. The book arrived really quickly too. In fact I was very impressed with how quickly it arrived because that normally never happens in Jersey. Postage has been known to take over a week!
Youngest was very excited to arrive home and find a package waiting for her. She hadn’t had the best of mornings so I was happy to see this little parcel too! Straightaway she asked if it was her book and excitedly started to open it.
Youngest actually squealed (Peppa would have been proud) when she saw her book. Immediately she pointed to the front of the book whilst shouting,
“It’s me and Granny”
Youngest was so proud to be in her first ever book. The book is a square hardback and of really good quality.
Youngest was so excited when I read her the personalised message that was at the start of the book. There aren’t many times that Youngest is suitably impressed but this was one of them, there might have been a ‘wow’. As we know she is normally one very cool customer and can be very hard to impress.
Previously I have compared Youngest to Kanye West but I actually think that she could be a bit like Peppa Pig. Both have been known to be slightly bossy and full of mischief. Youngest also loves to jump in muddy puddles and has also been known to snort at anything that is remotely funny. Now I understand why Youngest is very fond of Peppa Pig, it’s because they are the same! Peppa Pig adores her Granny and so does Youngest.
‘My Granny’ is such a lovely book. In it Peppa and (in our case) Youngest talk about how much they love their grannies. Youngest adores her granny so she loved reading about all the kind things that her granny does for her.
I was impressed by how bright and colourful the pictures are and the text is really clear and bold. It is really good for encouraging your little one to read. Oldest loves to read but it can be harder to persuade Youngest to sit down with a book. However, Youngest loved this book and wanted us to read it together again and again. I think this might have been because my threenager is a little fame hungry and she loved seeing and reading about herself in the story.
In fact Youngest loved the book so much that she then demanded asked her sister to sit down and read the ‘My Granny’ story with her. It was really lovely to watch as Oldest read the book to Youngest. There was no quarrelling, they were just enjoying each other’s company, giggling (or should that be snorting) away as they read the book.
It is such a great book for siblings to share. These two loved it and they were soon discussing all of the reasons they love their granny. This book must have magical powers, I am never letting it out of my sight!
This book would make a fantastic gift and both children and grannies would love it. The book is really easy to order and personalise and delivery is super speedy too.
