Children’s Bedroom Must Haves

I have started to plan for the children’s bedroom. If you remember they gave me very specific instructions for what they would like in their room, which you can read about here. Above is a collection of what I have found so far. I may have strayed from their list just a little bit.

Bookshelf from John Lewis costs £169.

I love that it can be personalised with your children’s name. It is a great bookcase for displaying all of the children’s books as it has a front facing display.

Amely Beanbags from Not On The Highstreet costs £58

Funky beanbags that would look great in the reading corner. Made from removable covers so they should be easy to keep clean.

The White Compay bunk beds costs £795

Super stylish bunk beds that come apart as well. Also plenty of head room for Mum and Dad to sit on the bottom bunk and read bedtime stories.

Fox chalk board from not on the highstreet costs £29.99

A really cute chalkboard that the kids will love. This will also tie in nicely with the wallpaper.

Fox wallpaper John Lewis costs £37.00

This would be perfect for a feature wall. It is has such personality and would add real character to the room.

Owl lamp John Lewis costs £40

This little friend makes for a cute lamp and would give off a lovely warm glow.

Glow in the dark stickers for the wall or ceiling John Lewis costs £15

This would make the kids excited for lights out at bedtime and hopefully them gazing up at the ceiling at the stars would help them drift off to sleep.

What do you think of my ideas? It is a bit of a mish mash isn’t it! But if you can’t get away with a mish mash when you are kid then when can you.

  1. Hi Emma
I love the look and feel of this website. The Button Theme is gorgeous. I clicked through when you left a lovely comment on the Tots100 website, thanks.

You are doing a kid’s bedroom makeover! Exciting! I hope to have my post up for Emily’s bedroom makeover in the next week or so.

I did a bean bag cheat! I had an old Next bean bag with a removable cover. I took it apart, used the fabric as a pattern template and then hot footed it to my favourite cut price fabric shop and got a roll of blue fabric to make some cushions and the bean bag for £4.50!

White furniture is just perfect in kids rooms and I’m really pleased at how it works in our daughter’s room. It means you can add in lots of colour for soft furnishings etc.

You have chosen some lovely things! I look forward to seeing the finished rooms.

    1. Hi, thanks for your really lovely comment and I really am in love with your house! You gave some really good tips too :-) The bean bag cheat sounds fab, I will have to get to our local fabric shop and see if I can find any nice fabrics x
