Organic Children’s Sticky Hand Sanitiser Review

Youngest has an aversion to being clean. Bath times can be a challenge and lo and behold if you try to wash her hair! The neighbours must love the soundtrack of Youngest wailing.

“Argh water on me. I hate it! Argh WATER!!!”

I don’t know why she hates it so much but even getting Youngest to wash her hands can be challenging. This is why we have a house full of hand sanitisers. I regularly douse Youngest in the stuff. She went through a stage of licking her hands and telling me that this meant they were clean. Nice try Youngest. Now I just cover her hands liberally in hand sanitiser.

When the lovely Green People asked me if I would like to try their ‘Sticky Hand Sanitiser” I had to give it a go! What I like about the Green People one is that it is organic and a natural alternative to chemical sanitisers. This means that it is kinder to little hands. We decided that we really needed to test the sanitiser so we took it on an average day out - the beach!

Perfect for the beach

Its size (100ml) means that it fits easily into your handbag. The Sticky Hand Sanitiser contains Aloe Vera which is perfect for little ones as it is soothing on the skin. It also contains Larch Tree extract which helps protect the skin. On arriving at the beach my two started doing what they do best - burying feet in the sand!

As you can see hands were becoming very sandy. It’s funny how Youngest hates water touching her hands but really loves coating herself with sand, mud, you name it! Anything other than water.

Youngest had great fun burying Oldest in the sand. After hands were well and covered in sand we decided to try the ‘Sticky Hand Sanitiser’.

You simply push the pump to release a light foam. The fact that it is a foam is great because you can tell if it has been rubbed in properly. It was a lovely soft foam and felt really mild on the skin. This is a sanitiser that won’t dry out your skin. It is so mild that it can even be used to cleanse the nappy area! It was a really effective sanitiser and hands were quickly cleaned. I was so impressed that I had to get in on the action too. This sanitiser gets its anti-bacterial credentials from Tea Tree oil as well as essential oils of Sweet Orange, Lemon and Madarin. This it what gives the sanitiser its aroma. I wasn’t overly keen on the smell of it but that’s because I don’t really like scents in creams and soaps etc. It is certainly nicer than the chemical smell you can get with some sanitisers.

This is a great product for the whole family and its size means that you should never need to leave the house without it. It is a great ‘eco-buy’ for the whole family.

£9.95 for 100ml. This gives you up to 200 squirts per bottle.

  • Hand sanitizers are the way to go for a day on the beach or trips out when you aren’t sure whether there will be a sink or loos nearby. Especially when the taps are usually freezing cold and there’s no soap. I have to confess that the only thing that would put me off this brand is the price. It does sound great though.

  • Looks good. My boy is a right filth-monster as well. I still have my lovely sun cream to review for these guys but this weather! It literally has not been warm enough for sun cream in weeks - seriously weather, buck up!!!

  • I’m always put off by hand sanitisers, but due to there chemically smell (and residual taste…don’t eat crisps after just washing your hands with that stuff, I learnt the hard way.) I’m still on the search for something that it just as handy but less chemically!
